Tenancy For Laravel

Current status of Tenancy v4 & SaaS boilerplate 2.0

Hey everyone! This is an update about Tenancy v4 and the next version of the SaaS boilerplate.

Tenancy v4

Tenancy v4 is now feature-complete and only needs to receive some minor bug fixes and refactors before release. It will be made public once we're mostly done with the new boilerplate. It has been available in early access to sponsors for months now, with some people using it in production — for more details join our Discord and (after joining) see this message in the announcements channel.

New features

You can find the (incomplete) documentation for version 4 here. Here are some highlights of what's new:

SaaS boilerplate 2.0

The new boilerplate will be based on Jetstream. We hope to release multiple versions with different identification methods and perhaps tenancy approaches (single-database, multi-database, possibly PostgreSQL RLS).

The existing boilerplate will remain supported for the foreseeable future. We'll likely still keep offering it even after the new boilerplate is released since they're best not thought of as "old and new" versions of the boilerplate, but simply different versions based on different tech stacks.

At the time of writing (July 18) we have the fundamentals set up and are mostly experimenting with what tools to use for some of the features that will be included.

This isn't an exact ETA, but we expect the boilerplate to be released sometime this summer.

Release timeline

  1. Once the boilerplate is mostly complete, Tenancy v4 will enter public beta
  2. Existing boilerplate customers and sponsors will be able to purchase the new boilerplate earlier and at a significant discount
  3. Once the boilerplate is fully finished, Tenancy v4 and the SaaS boilerplate will be released together, along with one more thing that we're keeping a secret for now 😎
